The Birds Win

I love crows.  A flock is called a murder. Don’t worry, it’s just branding, they aren’t ICE agents. Crows don’t shoot puppies, or murder American citizens and others seemingly without consequence.

It’s true, crows are predators. They primarily eat insects but also small animals and the eggs of other birds, such as pigeons. Survival in nature may appear cruel but there are no Stephen Miller crows. Just saying...Back to their attributes

These birds can count to 10/use tools and hold a grudge for 17 years. And since they communicate so well, these grudges can be passed down and preserved. We could use a bit of this memory storage when too many of the American public seems to have the attention span and memory of a goldfish.

No self respecting crow would forget that Donald Trump, cosseted in privilege and trust funds, failed at every single business venture.  Even associating with very sketchy and scary folks combined with not paying employees, contractors and vendors- bust and bankruptcy.  Only by becoming president and using the White House as QVC together with selling pardons was he able to amass significant money. trump is getting older but there is still time for him to lose it all....again.

By the way, not just business, trump stole from charities and further defrauded people through his so-called school. Jack Smith knew but couldn't get to trial that after his defeat in 2020, trump was grossly mishandling and possibly illegally using classified documents.

These black birds would not forget the disastrous first term. Or the seditious riot. They would remember his thirty four criminal convictions, even if they had to count it up in four different stages.  Every time Trump claimed that he won the election in 2020, crows – but somehow not the GOP, would think: “not this lie again.”

No crow would ever lose sight of the fact that Trump campaigned on no more wars and specifically not a war with Iran. These birds have a strict hierarchy structure based on dominance and strength.  Thus they would not understand how Israeli PM Netanyahu could be allowed in the US security briefing room and sit at the head of the table.

(It doesn't matter if trump was bribed, blackmailed or bullied, this war is an absolute disaster.  All of the 10 points in the 2 week cease fire agreement benefited Iran. But trump could still destroy the world.)

Crows might eat roadkill but they are not allowed in either restaurants or grocery stores.  Crows remember poisoned fields and places that are dangerous for the flock. Or could kill that murder of crows. Too many people are ignoring the collapse of our planet. Finally, Americans are starting to despair at our forever wars.  Crows would have cawed loudly much earlier. As a crow cousin would say Nevermore

We know what is happening.  Now how do we fight back?

Protect our right to vote.  Create or join a group that is focused on challenging everything the GOP will do.  Cross pollinate and combine with other organizations that might have different goals.  Because all issues intersect.

And of course vote.  We need to elect people willing to serve the country, not use it like an ATM.  But that is not the primary strategy.  As we have written countless times- change comes from us.  The American people. Actually all those living here.  Everyone can participate. If you can be out front- please protest like you live in Minneapolis.  If not, find ways to quietly support change.

It would be great to have protests that take less planning, just needing reminders to people and jurisdictions. i.e.  Folks could gather to march the third Saturday of every month. Mark your calendars.  Bring friends and family.  Inform towns and cities that this protest is a growing and recurring event.  The latest No Kings Rallies brought out less than 3% of the population.  Imagine if it became recurring and a habit. (Like not shopping one day a week.)

Make your voices heard.  The so-called Save Act could not in fact be saved due to overwhelming public objection once its true intentions became known.  Thus, information and its distribution is crucial.  Only around 6% of legislation is actually passed, with less in recent years. But the budget must be enacted by Congress and we know how painful and dysfunctional that has become  recently.  (As cruel as the shutdown is for government workers and people who need those services, federal contractors do not receive any back pay for the time that Congress simply could not do its job)

Don't ignore any election.  Be it the school board or your state supreme court. Thank you Wisconsin.

What's in a name?  The one comically referred to as the Big Beautiful Bill- was a cruel, ugly attack on governmental programs and a give away to the wealthiest.  But yes, it was a bill.

Crows fly and people lie.  Do not take anyone at their word.   Understand what all legislation would truly generate and its ramifications. Also, research candidates: What did they say and what did they do? Put their actions in the context of what this country needs for children, the environment, books or protections from massive AI and Detention Centers. As well as dozens of other critical issues.

At  #DSOT we believe in a growing and sustained economic protest. These large corporations don't seem concerned with workers, product, the environment, and economic disparity. Show that we can demand change by planning when/where and how we shop.

Support local, small and unrepresented businesses.  Find places that celebrate and recognize unions and respect workers.   Discover shops and services that take pride in what they offer, celebrate diversity  and care about much more than excessive profit.  Don't Shop on Tuesday.
