Talking Immigration, Community, and Bad Neighbors in Baltimore with Odette Ramos
Happy Thursday everyone! Today we are joined by Baltimore City Council Member, Odette Ramos, for Baltimore's 14th District, and my own (Jacob) council member. Ramos is the first Latino officeholder in Baltimore City history, since being elected in 2020, when she replaced outgoing council member Mary pat Clarke. She serves on several committees, including Public Health and Environment, and Education, Youth, and Older Adults. She is also vice chair of the Housing and Economic Development committee. In this chat we discuss the state of immigration in the country and Baltimore's place as a welcoming city. We also talk about how Johns Hopkins University is a bad neighbor with its insatiable real estate developments. As always we finish up with ways you can get involved!
