It is one thing to have too many elected officials unable or unwilling to have government serve the people. Yes, together with corruption and institutional lethargy, there are a host of excuses to explain why vital policies and legislation are not being enacted. No matter the reason, however, that lack of action had consequences.
Okay, the people whispered. Trump was barely re-elected, 1% or less, by those who voted this time. To reiterate, without enumerating what has been talked to death recently, more than 10 million fewer people went to the polls than four years ago. So, the choices and system also failed.
Donald Trump, after a disastrous term as President, (or should we say Chief Executive cosplay), was decisively defeated in 2020. His campaign knew he would lose prior to the election even though the disparity was not as large as was predicted. Still, it was clear. And everyone in Trump's entourage, with the possible exception of the pillow salesman, knew that Biden had won.One advisor, who was pardoned by Trump for stealing donations meant to build a wall, told the latter to “just declare victory.” Steve Bannon did serve a short prisonsentence for thumbing his nose at Congress.
So much for respecting Congressional oversight and democratic elections. It seems that only one amendment of the Constitution is recognized by some folks, although it’s widely misunderstood.
Currently, after causing a seditious riot and stealing classified documents, while being charged with every crime except jaywalking and convicted of several, slightly more folks than not wanted Trump back in office.
The man who wouldn't be allowed to tour the White House due to security concerns will again be living there. The coward who used a doctor to evade military service; the man who said avoiding STD's was his personal Vietnam; the President who called those in the military, especially the soldiers who died, suckers and losers, will be Commander in Chief.
This is why books and education are so important. No Kamala Harris is not a Communist. History must be taught, (or we’re doomed to repeat it.) The difference between a president and a dictator. I thought it was someone who had another person transcribe their words. Oops, no.
Now comes the mocking of America and government. The joke has already been made that Trump tasked 2 people to get the so-called waste out of government. Elon Musk received more than $1.5 billion in government funds over the last decade. Let's start cutting right there.
Put the President of a fracking company in charge of the Energy Department. Too bad there isn't a “we’re all going to die” department.
Oh wait, what was once Health and Human Services will be run by an anti vaxxer. Who missed polio? And measles? Next pandemic, folks should just drink bleach or wait for the end. Canada had 40% fewer deaths than the US. Which means that Trump's horrific handling of covid could be responsible for the loss of 400,000 Americans. Our family and friends.
The Governor of South Dakota has been banned from every Native American reservation in the state. So the puppy killer, who is hated by the original residents here, will be in charge of dealing with the people desperately seeking to be the newest citizens.
A man credibly accused of statutory rape, whose former wingman is now in prison and just eluded a congressional ethics investigation, will ostensibly be the country's lawyer. The Attorney General in theory works on behalf of the citizenry not as counsel to the President since the latter stiffed all of his other lawyers and is hard pressed to find more who will defend him and then not get paid. The list goes on and will extend unabated for 4 years.
No links this time. People need to understand the issues and what is at stake. Read. Research. Please go beyond the propaganda and lies. Donald Trump and Project 2025 have been very clear in their intent. And yes, no one is safe.

Crimes should be punished; justice blind to how powerful someone might be.Just an aside if the founding fathers felt a President could do anything they wanted, there would not be an impeachment clause. No impeached president- A. Johnson/ Clinton/Trump/Trump was ever convicted. But it is specified in the Constitution that if such occurs, more legal actions can be taken. While no other punishments may be inflicted pursuant to the impeachment proceeding, the convicted party remains liable to trial and punishment in the courts for civil and criminal charges.
