Leave David Hogg Alone

Updated: May 25

Stop this steal.  Why are there even any mumblings about removing this excellent strategist and highly articulate advocate after being duly elected as VP of the DNC?  Let us be clear here:  there has to be differences between the two parties if you want to engage your base.  And it needs to be more than just rhetorical, you must walk the talk to provide hope.

It’s the Republicans who are the self-anointed smearers of Mr. Hogg.  As a child, too young to order a beer, he was harassed and stalked by Margorie Taylor Greene. Laura Ingraham, one of the interchangeable cross wearing blondes, mocked David for not getting into one of the colleges of his choice. He had to settle for Harvard University. For those of you with a sense of humor of the collective Trump cabinet, that was a joke. (And thank you Harvard for what you are doing now.

Democrats: please stop trying to lose.  Please. We, millions of us out here, want you to do something.  We are protesting and taking action. More and more people are not shopping on Tuesday. They are boycotting Target and Tesla and finding different ways to form economic solidarity and power.

Candidates cannot campaign that Trump has fascistic goals and then punt when he starts executing such. Democrats you’ll never be as cruel and ignorant as the GOP.  So, stop trying.  Do not pivot on immigration and try to be as vile as the other party.  Seriously, do you have Stephen Miller directing the heartbreaking carnage? Kristi Noem?  Then don't even try.

The problem with being forced to vote for the lesser of two evils is that one becomes more demonic and the other shrinks in size. DNC: Remember your base.  Give them something to fight for and believe in.  Listen to them, and then never stop demanding what they want and need.  Because, the policies and legislation that are deemed too woke or too leftist by conservative media are, in fact, incredibly popular. Probably because they benefit more folks than just a handful of billionaires.

Some free advice for the big tent party:  All are welcome. Make certain the base out to vote and Independents are lured over in to support. Don't try to convert staunch conservative voters.   If GOP folks find they are the losers in a Republican administration, they can help to vote them out.  And then demand the newly elected officials deliver.  For us. For US.  Remember, politicians are the hired help.

Democrats  you can't be caught lying. We will protect abortion rights. Nope. Actions must be taken to prevent mass shootings.  Again, check my notes, um no. And what was actually done: Why not single payer healthcare instead of a gift for the insurance industry? "so-called Welfare Reform."  Three Strikes and bulging out the prisons Rescuing the bankers/ not their victims.   And/and/and.

Start screaming, this is a five alarm fire.  Trump and his official cabinet together with their secret cabal are breaking the law all day/every day.  A never ending parade of unconstitutional actions that also have to be cruel and damaging to the country, its people and the planet. Do something.  WWCSD? Ask  what would Chuck Schumer Do then do the exact opposite.

`Democrats, clean up your act.  No insider trading.  No rich backers who can and do direct policies.  If you want to be rich, then become a hedge fund manager.  If you want to serve the public, know that it means financial sacrifice. If 6 figure salaries and every perk imaginable is a sacrifice.  (The federal level and many governors.) And stop praising Ronald Regan.

For the billionth time, elected officials work for us.  We, the American people, are the employers. Can you imagine running a business in which the staff decides to give themselves raises.  Or to saunter in whenever they feel like it. As well as having side gigs that pay more than you do.  And yes, job hunt- i.e. run for president/senator etc.- in lieu of doing their own work.

Democrats.  Go back to the original formula.  Unite immigrants, all workers short of billionaires, people of color and everyone being ignored, cheated or discriminate against. Lure back progressives and the youth vote and energy with popular and needed reforms. Enact legislation and create policies that back your promises.  Okay, the Republicans, barely, control the Congress and the Presidency- but where was Biden and Obama and Clinton?  Yes, they were better than the GOP leaders but they all  ignored the needs of most of this country. To the point that a lying failure was elected president not just once but twice.

A self-described billionaire generated support from what should be the base of the Democratic party. The last presidential election was complicated.  But suffice to say when you have a proven progressive like Tim Walz on your ticket, you don't campaign with the Cheney's.  You don't try to win over voters who will not support you and ignore those who would, could and should.

David Hogg has some ideas that the monied old guard don't like.  Too bad. As we try to bring back the Democrats and stop the non agenda except for corruption and cruelty of the GOP, it is up to us.  Keep protesting.  Calling your elected officials.  As their boss.  Demand the changes we desperately need. And in economic solidarity:  Don't Shop on Tuesday.

Exciting news.  #DSOT now has a Youtube Channel.  Barely two weeks old.  Listen to Environmental Activist

Steven Donziger tell his amazing and ongoing story.  Promise, no celebrity news unless Kid Rock is tasked to oversee the Library of Congress.
