Give Peace a Chance/ Israel, Iran, and the US - A Brief History with Ronda Cooperstein

Happy Friday everyone! Today we are joined by Ronda Cooperstein to discuss US Policy and Israel, together with the manifold ramifications throughout the region as well as this country.

Although we briefly talk about the current war, Ronda has taken us back to the 1950's to present a better understanding of this complex situation. Ronda helps provide a grounding in historical context, and how the myriad of decisions made decades-to-centuries ago still affect that part of the world today.

The topic needs hours of honest discussion, and this video barely scratches the surface of the colliding problems, beliefs, and history that has combined to take us to the fraught and devastating moment.

No group or country, be it Israel or Iranians, Zionists or Palestinians, Americans or Jews are a monolith.  Join #DSOT to explore different views, as well as some voices that are being silenced or ignored.

This is only a small piece of the picture, and we encourage everyone to keep learning about foreign affairs. In this moment we need empathy, curiosity, and open hearts and minds more than ever.
