​England, Have You Not Been Paying Attention to US?

Too many people there are upset about immigrants.  And the far right is gaining power. Prime Minister Nigel Farage could be a real possibility. The only silver lining is if that occurs he can be ousted in less than two month's time.       (Can we do that here?  Please. Oh wait,there is a mild iteration that has never worked. It is called impeachment and the GOP/Senate keeps failing.)

Speaking of removing a PM/Keir Starmer:  What in the world is wrong with you?  You are part of the Labour Party and you pivoted to the right so hard and so often, it is a wonder that you aren't dizzy.  Granted, many of the problems England is currently facing were created in large part by decades of Conservative Party rule. But why add to peoples' miseries and go hardline on too many issues?

You appointed an Epstein cohort to be British Envoy to the US. Were you confident that since no one in the Epstein files has been charged with anything in this country, Mandelson would be accepted.  Here maybe but not but in England where there is finally backlash 

I hear you MAGA with an accent. Too many foreigners you shriek..  Really?  Your cuisine could use some DEI.  Food Fusion. One racist was saying that people are coming and no one can understand their language. Cymraeg- Welsh.  Cmon people, use more vowels.  Have you tried to read this language? And Irish names. Irish Gaelic. Oh boy.  Are there Duolingo classes for that?  People in glass houses should not throw linguistic stones. I love the English Commonwealth except the food.  This is not mocking any language or culture. Except of course the food- have you heard of spices? Peek over to see what other countries are cooking- or former colonies. Just making a point that it is not language  that is causing problems

One young man who had run for parliament made too many avowed sexist remarks. What a wanker.  His "reform" party is a conservative as can be. The Labour candidate just beat him by a landslide  setting the stage to remove Starmer by his own party.    Yesterday PM Starmer resigned and the newly elected Andy Burman has already been sworn in to replace him. 

Wow- that was fast. Trust your American cousin-you want progressives in power.  And if any politician betrays the trust of the people or is in charge of a corrupt, inept and cruel administration- get rid of them. I know a big money drain for England.  One of the richest families living large on the country's dime. The Monarchy. The cost: $510 million.  Annually.  In addition to all the wealth and assets these people have. And property. .Rents that they levy.  Euphemistically stated, they are also awash with treasure from other countries.

Plus what is increased and then passed down to each generation.  Catered to by a massive number of staff. Not having to pay all taxes helps as well.  Plus their titles beckon opportunities.  And crimes... i.e. whatever old Andy stole or traded on his name to generate more money. He and his wife and daughters are not the only ones using their bloodline for financial gain.. Even if tacit, having royal titles opens so many doors.  

The real cost of the monarchy is under dispute with so much hidden from the British people.  The price is rising this year as more folks there, like here, are finding it hard to pay basic bills.  But compared to the unprovoked and immoral war the US is losing in Iran, the royal folks are a real bargain.  Trump's illegal war is costing 1.88 billion.  A day. 

Back to the Windsors and the extended family.. They are powerless. PR Puppets.  I  guess it is better to have a completely tame Monarchy.  Ok- iron his shoelaces and all, but at least no one is getting beheaded. Personally I find the very idea that some people are descended from God beyond horrific.  Especially these folks. Again, the monarchy, through secrecy, threats and intimidation can hide and even abet bad behavior.  The king who abdicated:  A lazy traitor and Nazi supporter/ plus possibly involved in the cover-up of a murder.  A corrupt pedophile. And what is not known....

There is no transparency or accountability. . Until recently. Just a little bit.  Imagine how awful Andrew and his wife have been for decades to finally generate public wrath.  He still lives rent free in the minds of many English folks and a royal lodge.  I was born into a country that did not want a king. And still doesn't. 

England, if you want a Royal Family, that's your choice.  But electing a more conservative and hate filled government is a very bad idea. The new trillionaire Eon Musk went to Ireland to generate some hate.  Here's some advice.  Don't listen to him/ use his self-driving cars or buy stock in his company that lost $5 billion last year before going public. And Musk has received billions in government monies.  So take that young family on SNAP benefits or living in public housing. And folks receiving SS for which you paid...You/we are not bleeding this country dry. But we have our own massive money drain.   President/ national decorator/war criminal/ cautionary tale for dementia is costing us a fortune, Ballrooms/ illegal wars and then reparations/insane and ever changing tariffs/ untold corruption/ birthday parties/golf trips and who knows what else.

He is making the Royal Family look like pikers. The issue is not hardworking immigrants or any marginalized group writ large.  Of course there are problematic people everywhere.  Especially among the billionaire-trillionaire- class and their hired elected minions. So understand what is truly happening and who are scapegoats and collateral damage.

Tally ho and all that. Does news from this former colony reach you?  Is this horror what you want??? Ask Hungary for advice.  And check out Albania.  Taking a hard stand and fight against the Kushner/Trump development plans. Both countries also have better gastronomic offerings.  Yes, food matters. And never stop trying to make certain everyone is fed. But that is yet another fight.  Trillionaires nay also billionaires and hunger/famine/food insecurity/ no access to clean water should not co-exist.  Morally or legally.

We can protest a wide variety of crimes and injustice all at once.   You know the drill: Keep informed.  Open your mind and your heart.  And shop like you can change things because you can. You too Europe and everywhere.  The sun need never set on a united economic protest movement.
