Corrupt Puppy Killer Finally Canned

Sadly there are many people who hurt/torture or kill animals. If your child is doing such- worry. If it’s a cabinet secretary…Some people actually go to prison for the crime of animal cruelty, law enforcement have seen a link between such behavior and violent criminal acts.
Which brings us to Kristi Noem. Not only did she shoot and kill the family puppy that she failed to train but then bragged about it as if this demonstrated leadership. She was not prepared for the massive backlash among MAGA and rightwing pundits. It was thought that until that boastful admission in her autobiography, Noem was shortlisted on Donald Trump's VP list.
Trump may not have a shred of humanity, but he usually knows what plays with his base. Noem was simply too toxic to be on the ticket. Fox News, revealed that the station had received emails from people claiming they would not vote for Harris, but would in fact stay home if Noem was the VP candidate. With the recent razor thin winning margins, that would have been fatal for the GOP. Millions of democratic voters did not cast a ballot in 2024 primarily appalled by the complicity and support of the US inre Israel's war crimes. As well as echoing MAGA on certain issues and campaigning with a homegrown war criminal.
I would like people in both parties to stand up and demand that this government represent us. That all actions be lawful, humane and needed. Public policy problems addressed and remedied. Elected officials must understand their role both as our representatives, and either part of the balance of power or federal employees of the American people. That being said, until the grip that Trump has on around 30% of the country, we can write off the GOP. But Democrats- please, how do you keep going along with this? Here are the 7 Democratic Senators who voted to confirm Noem 14 months ago. Fourteen months... that's how long her puppy Cricket lived.
From a Machiavellian perspective, her firing was of course a good thing. Not that anyone should suspect DHS will function any differently going forward. It would have been nice, nay cathartic, if her dismissal was due to the deaths caused by the poorly trained and unrestrained ICE agents. Or she was fired because the detention centers were/are designed to be cruel, unsafe and tantamount to torture. Wouldn't it be nice if her ouster came down to the fact that she is inept and corrupt. Cruel and cutoff from empathy. Like a puppy killer. Such reasons might suggest reform was on the horizon.
Nope. Trump didn't like Noem failing in her 2-day appearance before Congress. The 200-million-dollar ad contract that went to a company which was established less than a fortnight prior. Chump change for this administration. But apparently the money did not divert to enough people. Or perhaps Trump wasn't front and center in the ads. Or her making him the goat when he thinks he is the GOAT.
We've seen this play out when Greg Bovino was taken out of Minneapolis and reassigned. He is poised to retire and collect his pension; this is not justice nor a solution and certainly not the change we need. The players rotate but it is the same old game.
I have used restraint and not alluded to Noem’s taxpayer sponsored extramarital activities. Keep focus on true victory this country desperately needs. But search online for stories if you like. And enjoy John Oliver’'s pithy appraisal of KN.
Stay firm Senators and defund DHS. Some democrats want Noem to pay. The humiliation- being fired while giving a speech- is not enough. Let's act like she is DACA who did a rolling curve at a stop sign. Not as if she is a mother/father citizen or friend who stopped to help others or take their child to school
No more violence. We need justice. Keep protesting. Senator Mullen doesn't portend to be any better. And of course, join the ever expanding union of economic heft.
Don't shop on Tuesday.
