A Grotesque/Corrupt Weekend & A Glimmer of Hope

This past weekend was a vile and grotesque display of idolatry in the midst of America’s decaying empire. The parade of horribles started on Friday with the crowning of the first paper Trillionaire, Elon Musk, when his company SpaceX went public for $1.75 trillion, in a rushed IPO, with dubious investment rules, which experts say is likely vastly overvalued. The valuation itself is so ludicrous some have even suggested it undermines the overall stock pricing system itself. And all for what? Even a trillion dollars won’t fill Elon’s need for validation.
Such an obvious grift could only have taken place under Trump’s rule, who capped off the weekend with an 80th birthday celebration that was every bit as gaudy and corrupt and pathetic as you could imagine. The lead-up to the event was a panoply of broken laws, corrupt deals, and debasing of civic monuments. The whole event was entirely Trumpian in conception to execution, from crypto grifts to cage fights, and it’s been clear for weeks that the event was occupying most of Trump’s limited remaining mental capacity. It was the sort of display we’ve all come to expect from our ruling elite, and so while disgusting, it would almost be run-of-the-mill.
However, there appears to have been one silver lining that came from Trump’s desire for a Beautiful Big Boy Birthday Bash: It seems to have put significant pressure on Trump to publicly agree to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Iran. As of Monday night, the MOU has apparently been electronically signed by Trump, Vance, and Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf kicking off 60 days of intense negotiations as both sides attempt to leverage their new positions and avoid any further escalation. However, the text of the agreement hasn’t been released, and already conflicting reports are emerging about specific points It does appear from statements made by both sides, that this agreement involves major concessions from Trump, who seems to have been forced concede to the Iranian position on everything from ballistic missiles, and nuclear enrichment, to control of the strait, and monetary reparations. It’s a truly stunning defeat for the world’s apparent Superpower, and we applaud whoever convinced Trump to take this loss now, instead of a worse one later. We aren’t even close to being out of the proverbial woods yet, and there are many reasons for concern. Trump doesn’t have the constitution or focus to sustain 60 days of stable diplomacy, and the Neocons, Zionists, and Israelis have all made it clear they hate this MOU and don’t want peace with Iran.
Whether Trump’s ego can withstand the vitriol that will surely be leveled at him, while also keeping Netanyahu from attacking Lebanon and literally blowing up the peace seems a slim hope. But it seems like the only chance to get the strait reopened and avoid even worse deprivation across the globe. Those precarious billions aren’t even a consideration, in all this for Trump, of course. For him it’s about ego, power, and money. His own, and his donors’. Instead of looking towards those who won’t be able to afford food because of increased fertilizer costs or get a procedure because of low helium, Trump et. al are crowing at ever higher stock market valuations and minting a trillionaire.
We pray for peace, and brace ourselves for these feckless fools to lead us back into further violence, but regardless, we the people are tired of this horror, and are going to organize and kick these bums out of office come November. And again in 2028. When we do, we need to make sure the people who replace them are ready to represent the people boldly, bring back accountability, and begin to make this government comprised of who invests in its people, rather than bombs and empire for the vanity of dying old men. So join us each week in growing solidarity, and don’t shop on Tuesday! #DSOT
