A Brief Survey of the Damage

I know what you are wondering. How could an old, tired, lazy man riddled with dementia, unconcerned/unaware of policy issues, focused on a Louis XIV style ballroom create so much damage so quickly. Well, he has a grotesque guidebook, Project 2025 and a posse of enablers. But at least he has a wise and dedicated array of cabinet advisors.

Oh wait, each and everyone of them is awful. Every single one.

Ronald Reagan did nominate people to be cabinet secretaries whose beliefs and actions were antithetical to the mission they were asked to lead. But we and history have never seen anything like this.

I cannot fall down the rabbit hole inre the latest assassination attempt. However, what is clear is that Trump constantly surrounds himself with the most unskilled and chaotic security team. Plus, a craven podcaster who according to more than a dozen witnesses, focuses more on booze and strip clubs, than his appointed position as head of the FBI. I don't glaze over trump all day/every day but I have a podcast. And no experience heading up a law enforcement agency. Pick me....

The Secretary of War (crimes) was a weekend anchor at Fox News. His own mother was publicly worried about and critical of him until she was maybe threatened into silence. Again drinking and strip clubs. He was booted out of running two veterans' organizations.  But hey let's put him in charge of the Pentagon. Now, months into an illegal and unprovoked war which the US appears to be losing, he is joyriding in a helicopter with Kid Rock.  Hegseth is complicit in or covering up war crimes. And kowtows to trump in lieu of providing any type of military expertise. 

So we are paying for the war together with soaring gas prices  rising inflation plus the tariff gambit. And the tragic human toll. I know that trump looked crazy or dumb or TACO with the slapping on and taking off of tariffs- often within hours. Punishing countries and alienating allies. Harming so many American businesses. It seems everyone is losing, but trust me, select people made a lot of money. Crazy like a corrupt fox.

Just an aside. About half of the adults in this country are diabetic or in a precondition state. (Numbers vary but all are very high.) And there has been a massive demand for the drug Ozempic. Denmark manufactures this and 75% of the life saving Insulin that our country uses... So, yes, let's threaten to take Greenland.

Speaking of medicine/health and so forth...

HHS- I can't even reiterate all the shock and horror. You know- anti vaccines/firing experts/destroying medical research/ bathing in raw sewage with raccoon genitalia etc... Of course Covid has not been eliminated and the cases of measles are surging. There is a significant portion of the citizenry who don't trust doctors and that is being reinforced by Bobby Jr. and his band of quacks. Too many babies are bleeding to death because parents who are gullible, misinformed and scared of vital medical procedures, are refusing to get them Vitamin K shots.

There is a new deadly virus. Currently there is no cure nor a vaccine for the Hantavirus. Our country will not be leading the effort to find any remedies. And will sneer at whatever other national research teams discover and provide for their citizenry.. Currently this deadly disease too often results in death. Stephen Miller cannot send a virus to a torture prison. No private land-grabbing wall can keep it out.

Why are some comedians doing the best investigative reporting? John Oliver had a segment about the often fatal, very dangerous and largely unregulated supplements available at convenience stores and gas stations. But don't worry, the staff at the FDA has been slashed.

I must pause here but we see you: DHS/DOJ/EPA/Energy/Education/Commerce and so many others.

To all the rapacious and cruel billionaires et. al. together with the elected officials they employ: everyone every single person would benefit from a country with higher wages coupled with concern for workers, access to medical care, better schools, increased funding for science, medicine and other research. Also: Using collective monies to support our most vulnerable citizens and not the richest ones. Protecting and healing our planet. We do not need a hideous ballroom that a court has already blocked from being built.. But rather a vibrant nation where the government serves all the people and is not focused on adding another 0 to the wealth of the people who couldn't spend even.a fraction of their money in multiple lifetimes.

So $ v.$ Collectively we have massive financial heft. Actions must be sustained. Several limited strikes against Amazon have not worked. Bezos still has 12 homes and dropped millions for the let them eat cake Met Gala. . Around 771,480 people are currently unhoused in this country.

Hey Jeff, want to put some folks up for a while?

Too many jurisdictions are attacking our unhoused citizens and not the billionaires.

(Another reality show has-been is running for office on the weary backs of those needing shelter.

Will this country ever learn who are the true villains?)

We must rewrite this false, evil fairy tale. It is not immigrants, DEI, wokeness, fair pay, unions, books, vaccines, education and expertise that are at the cause of our problems. Rather,our current misery and disparity are due to greedy wealthy folks, willing to harm everyone and everything in their pursuit of more.

Behind every great fortune lies a great crime. Or crimes. Derrière chaque grande fortune se cache un grand crime. Balzac.

Make it stop. Demonstrate every Tuesday that we have more collective financial power combined with millions of people, and we can generate change. Prove that we have financial heft.  

Not Qu'ils mangent de la brioche No! modern day Marie Antoinettes. .Let us all have the foods we need. (Inspected, safe from chemicals, humanely farmed to start.)
