Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Book. NOT US

Updated: Dec 4, 2024

#DSOT is thankful that we were able to chat with Kent Oliver.  He is a Senior Fellow at the Public Policy and Advocacy Office of the American Library Association.  Kent is a tireless champion for libraries, books and against censorship.

He is not alone. Over 75% of Americans oppose book bans.

More than 90% of adults support public librarians with a healthy 65% regarding them very fvery favorably.  Libraries are the heart of our communities.  They have evolved and provide a wide array

of services however books- in all iterations-are the foundation of their mission. When you argue with relatives next week, remember to stay calm and know that you all believe in/cherish and want to protect freedom of speech.

Enjoy this great conversation.

Don't despair. There is a lot you can do.
