Leah Margulies

Organized People Making a Difference

As a little holiday treat, #DSOT is bringing you a fantastic chat with Leah Margulies, long-time activist, organizer, advocate, and attorney. Leah has worked tirelessly, for over 50 years, against corporate greed and exploitation.

She first rose to national, and then international prominence in the 1970s organizing against Nestle's harmful pushing of baby formula on new mothers, eventually starting the advocacy organization IBFAN.Throughout her storied career, Leah has testified to Congress, worked at the UN, and now currently works as an anti-eviction lawyer.

She is the very epitome of the difference dedicated people can make with deep empathy and consistent effort. Still, as Leah points out in our chat, the fight is far from over to cast off the fetters of corporate exploitation, and in some ways we have regressed. In times like these, we need more Leah's than ever! If you're looking to support a new generation of leaders and organizers, Leah suggests checking out Leaders we Deserve.

Happy Holidays, we hope you enjoy this chat, and are inspired to get to work in 2025!
