Most Americans oppose the government shutdown and the wall around which it is predicated.

But now, 800,000 federal employers are not getting paid and the economic ramifications reverberate throughout the country. And our most vulnerable citizens are absorbing most of the pain.


It is true that Americans are united on dozens of policy issues that are being ignored or gored

by government actions.
