America is a Nation of Immigrants

Unless you are Native American, then your land gets stolen/your people murdered and then

sequestered on small reservations.

Unrepresentative Policy - Immigration Policy #3 Each day reveals new horrors and mass atrocities committed on our border against immigrants and refugees. Donald Trump and his Republican lackeys claim that the opening of concentration camps to house, process, and torture these people is needed to keep our country strong and safe. Somehow, they assert, our country of 330,000,000+ people is "full" and can't possible absorb these refugees into our society, that the drain on our resources too great. But do American's even believe in this basic premise, of immigrants as takers?

Do immigrants strengthen the country because of their hard work and talents, or are they a burden on the country because they take jobs, housing and health care? Strengthen: 62% Burden: 28%

Despite constant fear mongering and denigration of refugees and other immigrants, the American people understand that immigrants are a source of strength and innovation for our country. They aren't imagining things either, immigrants pay more in taxes than they take out in social services, and they often do critical jobs, especially in agriculture, that you literally can't pay American citizens to do. What's more, younger generations support immigrants to an even greater extent than the nation as a whole! Gen X, Millenials and Gen Z are deeply aware of how immigrants are inextricably bound to the history of this country, and are essential to any prosperous future we might hope for.

We must act swiftly to establish a just, and humane immigration system that recognizes the inherent value of people coming to our borders, instead of manufacturing crises that are the real burden on us all, morally, socially, and economically. Stand up, resist, and DSOT before it is too late!
