Not Weird Walz

Since this email was sent out, Governor Tim Walz was selected to

be the Democratic VP candidate.

The next major moment in the Harris campaign is the selection of her VP pick, to be unveiled this Tuesday. The final two options being considered for apparently Josh Shapiro from Pennsylvania and Tim Walz from Minnesota. If Harris really wants to win, and she wants to lean in to not just good policies but good politics, she will choose Governor Walz. He is the very one who first started calling Republicans and their behavior weird. He is the one who has effectively governed his state with a one vote majority and made huge political gains. And, he is the one that between the two will inspire more votes on election day and push for a more creative and representative government. The choice is clear, Kamala, choose Governor Walz as your VP pick.

Whatever Tuesday’s choice, however, our task will remain the same. We at DSOT support the Democrats and a Kamala Harris Presidency because their political constituency and the places from which they derive their power are more amenable to progressive pressure than the Republicans. Regardless of the outcome in November it will take an organized block of political and economic power in order to create the necessary conditions to allow even the most Progressive version of Kamala Harris to accomplish anything in a system run by the donor class. This election is shaping up to be one for the history books, but if we want it to be truly great for not just the elites, we will need to be building and growing that our coalition every day until the election and beyond. So, join us each Tuesday in growing solidarity to bring this country back on track and to fight these little fascistic weirdos and the Creepy Elites who fund them.

Don't shop on Tuesday
